Groupama choose Logitel for consulting services and integration AV and Collaboration Solutions.
Groupama has a history spanning 90 years, operating continuously in the Greek insurance market since 1928. Having gone through a series of mergers and acquisitions the insurance company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Groupama as of mid-2007. Its activities are based on a wide and diversified portfolio of insurance and securities offerings covering segments such as real estate, life insurance, pensions, healthcare and investments. Groupama’s acquired asset, Phoenix, was a founding member of the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies and the merged company now boasts one of the highest solvency ratings in the Greek market, as well as excellent customer satisfaction ratings by all major consumer advocacy groups.
The company’s IT and Facilities Management team were looking to renovate and retrofit two large boardrooms into multi-purpose collaboration spaces to meet the needs of not only top-level management but also for day to day use by project teams, as well as partners, visitors, and even for hosting small events on-site.
Groupama turned to Logitel for consulting on identifying the key requirements, and therefore solution components, that would cover their needs for communication and collaboration today and in anticipation of future developments, both in technology as well as business practices. This process resulted in the following key functional and technical requirements as defined by the need to:
- Make presentations and/or share content from a variety of devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets, web/cloud services, etc.).
- View real-time and recorded content from multiple sources (streaming-web-cloud services, etc.).
- Collaborate with remote parties through video conferencing and/or web conferencing.
- Superior sound reinforcement and sound capture for increased clarity and comfort during meetings or presentations.
- Real-time translation for foreign visitors and/or remote participants.
- Central remote monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting for all equipment and solutions components.

therefore solution components, that would cover their needs for communication and collaboration today and in anticipation of future developments, both in technology as well as business practices. This process resulted in the following key functional and technical requirements as defined by the need to:
The first and foremost component of Logitel’s solution in fulfilling this project’s specifications were the display units.
Two large-format Ultra-High-Definition multi-touch interactive LED displays (75-inch & 65-inch) from CTOUCH were chosen for their sturdy, high-quality construction and outstanding, crisp and vivid color image and video output, under any room lighting conditions.
The touch-enabled display surface allows presenters to annotate and interact with content easily and naturally.
The 65-inch display was mounted on a rugged, heavy-duty cart with an electric lift motor, allowing the screen to be safely and easily repositioned to accommodate different room layouts or to be moved out to other spaces if required.
The room displays were also augmented with a wireless presentation device which allows collaborators and presenters to stream and share their content from any type of mobile or personal device, without the hassle of finding and connecting physically with a cable and the limitations thereof.
An equally important solution component in this project was the in-room audio equipment. In-ceiling installed speakers from Apart driven by an amplifier in the wire closet were used for sound reinforcement and improved legibility.
A wireless tabletop microphone as well as a wearable wireless microphone connected to Revolabs’ 2-channel Executive Elite system enable conference rooms to be set up in different layouts for different purposes, without the need to move around equipment or rerouting cables, and allow presenters the choice to either move freely or stand in a fixed place, all the while ensuring excellent sound clarity and voice pickup, thus enhancing the experience for both in-room as well as remote participants while in conference.
Being a multinational organization, Groupama needed to accommodate users and guests with varied linguistic backgrounds and capabilities and thus is was deemed that in-room translation systems where necessary. To this end, Logitel adopted a novel approach by employing Sennheiser’s Tourguide 1039 wireless guided audio system coupled by the SL Interpreter station. This solution allowed for great flexibility both in terms of room layout changes as well as guest seating arrangement and comfort.
A High-Definition IP Video Conferencing system with a robotic pan-tilt-zoom camera was attached to the 75-inch display in the one of the conference rooms to facilitate point-to-point or even multi-point meetings with remote parties, utilizing the embedder multi-point conferencing unit feature. In addition to the videoconferencing system, all of each room’s audiovisual equipment could also be used for web conferencing enabled by subscription to a cloud service allowing local participants to connect securely with remote parties on any type of device (PC, laptop, desktop, tablet, smartphone) over the internet.
Following the retrofit of Groupama’s audiovisual and collaboration technology infrastructure the new systems have greatly increased the efficiency and utilization of the company’s most important meeting spaces. After the first two rooms which served as pilot projects, the solution has become the preferred standard for additional spaces in need of technology upgrades at the facility. The success of this project will have a positive impact on the success of this organization for years to come.
